September 9th, 2018: Lina's Baptism

To start off, LINA WAS BAPTIZED!!! Seriously one of the best days ever! She is one of the strongest, most prepared investigators I have had the privilege of teaching! She spent years coming to the church to hang out with members and play volleyball, and even learned with the Sisters a year ago, but never felt like it was her time. The week that I came to this area, she said she saw me and my companion and decided we were the Sisters she wanted to finally learn with. She was so ready and accepted the gospel with open arms, and was beaming on the day of her baptism! We are so happy for her!!
Some other highlights of the week were giving some bracelets from my next door neighbor in Arizona to some children we met while out contacting. Their faces lit up and at that moment were probably the happiest children on earth :)
I got cussed at for the very first time ever on my mission this week! Of course it was by a white person, but it still didn't feel very good! She didn't like that we were sharing flyers for our free English class, and trying to spread Christianity in a Buddhist country. I think she just needs a little light and Jesus in her life :)
Other than those things, the mission is still going awesome!! Our area is doing so well and our investigators are so prepared. Next week is transfer calls so I will let you all know what is happening!
I love you all and thank you all for all the support and love I receive from you each week and from your prayers!

Love, Sister Bashford
