April 15th, 2018: Happy Khmer New Year!

Subject: Happy Khmer New Year!
Kind of weird that Khmer New Year is in the middle of April, but I am ok with it! It's just another reason for Khmer people to vacation and party! To celebrate, we had a branch activity in Keansvay and it was seriously so much fun. On Saturday we biked around our entire area for 8 hours to get to know it better and find new roads to contact and such. It was so fun because everyone was out for the celebrations. One tradition they have is on the roads, the stop people passing by on motos or cars (for our case, bikes) and squirt them with water guns and throw baby powder at them and sometimes ask for money. Everyone is drunk from 9 am until the sun goes down, and I will have to say it was one of the most entertaining days of my entire mission. I came home so wet (from water guns and sweat) and covered in baby powder, and poor Elder Burnett got beer poured all over him. But all of us agreed it was one of the funnest days ever. I think Khmer holidays are much more fun that American holidays. We need to start a holiday when we can just chase each other around and squirt each other with water guns and get a week off of work :) Then yesterday, we had interviews with President and we squished 6 missionaries into one tuk tuk. We have three large Elders in our district so it was one of the most interesting rides to the city :) I am super excited for this upcoming week, because we have two exchanges and we are going to be so busy! I will update you with all the good stuff next week! I love you all and I hope you are happy and healthy!

April 8th, 2018: Conference!

Subject: Conference!
Hey everyone!

This week was transfers and I am now with Sister Soeur in Keansvay (means: mango corner)! We have had a lot of fun together and the best part of the week was that we were able to listen to Conference! Even though the power went out in our church for over 5 hours, we were able to figure it all out and go to a different church to watch it :) I am so grateful that President Nelson is our new prophet, and I sustain him as God's chosen prophet, seer, and revelator for this day. I am so grateful for all the words that were shared and the Spirit I felt confirming all the truths of the Gospel! I am so blessed to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and receive all the blessings of Christ's restored Gospel on the earth! I love that the focus in this conference was on serving and ministering to others the way the Savior would. I love that as we learn to see others the way God sees them and serve them with all our hearts, we are becoming truer and more deliberate disciples of our Savior, Jesus Christ, which is the whole reason we are here on this earth. To follow our Savior and become like Him. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I thank God every single day for His Son, who performed His Atonement for me and every single one of us.
I hope we will all be able to continue to cherish the words that were spoken in this conference, because I know it is exactly what God would have us hear at this time.
I love you all so much and hope you have a great week!!

April 1st, 2018: TRANSFER CALLS

Subject: TRANSFER CALLS
Well, transfer calls came last night, and I am staying in Keansvay, but President is splitting our area so I am no longer in ChbaAmpov. Sister Sok will be training in CA and Sister Smith will be the new Senior STL! My new companion is Sister Soeur! She is actually my sister on the mission because we both had the same trainer(mom), Sister Luke, and I am super excited! We are the STL's for this area and I am over 5 other companionship of Sisters here in East Zone!! This transfer should be a good one!

Sorry I don't have a lot of time this week with all the preparing for the new transfer, but here are some way awesome pictures of us at service cutting down trees with horrible thorns! One of the members literally called them "lucifer" and we just about died of laughter and died because the thorns killed :)

Love you all! I hope you all loved the words of our living prophets and are starting to apply them in your lives! Hopefully my email next week will be better!

ok funny story, we were walking on this wooden bridge and i stepped down on the wooden ramp and the thing literally snapped in half under me (third picture) I have never felt so fat in my life... granted I was the first person over 5 feet tall to walk on it :)
